Our Alsace Gourmet and wine tour combines drives through the dark and enchanting German Black Forest, with the more open wine region and wines routes of the Alsace, known for it's fine whites, as well as beautiful castles dotted along the wine route. 

After an evening in Zurich at the wonderful Atlantis Hotel and Spa, the following morning you will start your driving tour.  The first drive takes you north from Zurich, across the Rhine, and into the German Black Forest.  Once into the forest, you head through picture postcard villages and sweeping lower mountain passes. Take lunch on one of the glacial lakes, before continuing west, into France and the wonderful old town of Strasbourg where you will spend your second evening. During second day you can immerse yourself in the middle age by visiting a very famous castle! Visit beautiful villages, where you will also enjoy some wine tasting and finally get to Illhauesern for your second evening where you will enjoy a 2* Michelin dinner. Third day will drive you back to Zurich via the wonderful Vorges Mountains and regional park, through Mulhouse  where you can visit the worlds largest car museum, then back over the Rhine and into Zurich!

Our Honeymoon Gourmet & Wine tour in Alsace includes three days driving through the beautiful vineyards and fast / sweeping trails of the Alsace region in France, combined with overnight stays in 5* hotels, and giving you the opportunity to have a fabulous dinner in one of the world most prestigious 2* Michelin restaurant allowing you to perfectly combine driving and gastronomy!

Day 1 - Arrive Zurich, transfer to the old town

On arrival in Zurich, you will be met by your private limo driver and will be whisked to the center of old town Zurich and the Storchen Hotel.  On arrival you touring pack, as well as champagne and flowers await you in your room.  Later, take a stroll along the world famous Bahnhofstrasse blessed with countless luxury and watch outlets, then explore the small cafes and boutique shops hidden in the cobbled streets of the old town.

Spend the evening in the city, either take in a show at the opera house, visit one of the coolest clubs in Zurich with VIP entry, or spend a more relaxed and romantic evening at the hotels Gourmet restaurant overlooking the river.

Day 2 - The Black Forest to Strasbourg

Your car is delivered to hotel and we will provide a detailed walk through of the car, plus of course the navigation unit which will have each of your daily drives (including routes and stop points) pre- programmed.

The drives then take you north from Zurich to the Rhine (natural border between Switzerland and German) where you cross the border at the beautiful village of Kaisersthul (castles on either side of the river). You now burst into the southern Black Forest with a run up one of sweeping lower mountain passes, then down to the beautiful Lake Schulesee where you will stop up for your first break of the day. After a quick coffee, continue driving deeper into the forest with a run up and around Mount Feldberg (the highest peak in the forest) then up to the town of Triberg. At Triberg you will stop up to visit the Triberg Falls, the highest waterfall in Germany, that cascade down to the village some 300M below.

From here continue your driving tour into the northern Black Forest, along several panoramastrasse, before stopping to enjoy a traditional Black Forest lunch. Afterwards, complete your drive to Strasbourg by picking up Route 500 / The Schwarzwald Hochstrasse - probably the greatest "drivers" road in the black forest, set high above the forest with views down to the Rhine Valley. A couple of kilometres after, you will reach the famous German “Autobahn” for a small stretch before crossing the Rhine river to France and cruising across the old town of Strasbourg to your hotel.

After arriving in Strasbourg and checking into your 5* hotel, head to the old town which is wonderful to visit by foot or by boat before going to dinner! That evening we recommend you dine at Les Haras restaurant - set on the old royal stud farm, it's our favorite restaurant in Strasbourg with a lively atmosphere serving modern European food and Alsatian food.

Day 3 – Strasbourg to Colmar via the Alsatian Wine route and the Vosges mountains

After a good relaxing night in the hotel you are ready for your second day of driving that will bring you to L'Auberge de L'Ill in Illhauesern through wonderful vineyards hills and mountain roads of the Vosges. This drive is offering various visits and a great variety of roads. You will head south to discover Alsatian Castles, Vineyards and forest, completing the visit with some of the famous pretty villages of Alsace. First you will take the highway for a couple of kilometers before entering the sweeper Vosges forest roads.

Heading up to the top of one of the most famous fortified middle age castle of the region, the Haut Koenigsbourg. After visiting the castle, you can admire the great views over the valley, the mountains and the vineyards that will be your playground for the day ahead! From there continue your journey towards little villages nestled in the middle of vineyards and stop for some wine tasting before going for lunch in one of the best place around and spend some times in the magnificent villages of Bergheim, Ribeauvillé and Kaysersberg.

After lunch hit the road to the mountains, discovering fantastic deserted roads offering small passes, mountain lakes and some very good turns. Stop for a coffee at the top of the mountains and make your way to Illhauesern where you will stop for your 3^rd night. The dinner this night is prepared by one of the most famous 3* Michelin chef in France, Marc Haeberlin. The restaurant "L'auberge de l'Ill" is just a paradise nestled by the shore of a small river. Indulge yourself by testing amazing food and very caring service from the Haeberlin family and walk alongside the romantic river to go back to your hotel which is 50m from the restaurant, a truly romantic experience not to be missed!

Day 4 – Colmar to Zurich via Vosges mountains and Automobile Museum

After breakfast by the shore of the river go to Colmar to explore the old town then continue South through vineyards and mountains. Stop at the highest point of the Vosges mountains (Grand Ballon 1,424m) for a coffee break. You will then head to Mulhouse to Visit the largest car museum in Europe, offering a fantastic racing cars collection and the largest Bugatti collection (Collection Schlumpf) in the world!

Visit the museum and have lunch there then continue the road and cross the Rhine river again to enter Germany. The final drive to the border (and Rhine) is along the Wehr River Valley, the valley was carved out during the ice age, and has gorge like rock formations on either side, the sound of the car engine reverberating off these walls is a perfect way to complete the run back to the border.

At the border, stop up at the beautiful village of Bad Säckingen (set on the Rhine) where you can visit the famous Holz Brucke (the longest covered wooden footbridge in Europe) for drinks / sightseeing, before completing your run back to Zurich where the car will be collected that evening at your hotel by our team.

Day 5 - Final day in Zurich

Spend the last day taking in the sights and attractions of Zurich, a compact yet international city, with a wonderful old town (on either side of the Limmat river) the world famous shopping street, Bahnhofstrasse, with its collection of watch and designer stores.

Later, head down to the shores of Lake Zurich, where you can take a coffee at one of the lakeside cafes with views all the way down to the Alps on a sunny day.
