The journey begins in the heart of the Burgundy wine region, in the wine-producing capital of the region, Beaune.  You will then take a leisurely 5-day road trip to the South of France in a carefully planned scenic driving route.  First, journey south along the Burgundy wine route, to the tip of the Rhone-Alps, visiting winery along the way.  Next, continue through the Rhone-Alps to the gourmet region of Valence with an overnight at the acclaimed Maison Pic hotel / 3-star restaurant.  Next day, continue south along the Rhone Valley, then into Provence, crossing Mount Ventoux, into the Luberon Valley region - one of the most beautiful parts of this incredible country.  Now take two days at leisure in Luberon to explore the region, before continuing the drive southeast, through the heart of the National Park Verdon / Gorge Verdon, along Route Napoleon, then down to the jet-set resort of Cannes, where the tour finishes on the sunny Cote d'Azur, where you can also extend your vacation at your own leisure.

Day 2, Explore Burgundy Region / Tastings

Day 3 - Burgundy Wine Route

Follow the Burgundy wine route south, as far as city of Valence, where the famous Maison Pic Hotel restaurant is located – it’s a must-eat destination, 3 stars (if you want).

Burgundy is divided into six appellations which you will journey through. Starting in the north the Côte de Nuits produces some of the world's finest reds with Grands Crus such as Chambertin, Clos de Vougeot, Romanée-Conti, La Tache. Next head into the Côte de Beaune: known for both red and white but the greatest white Burgundies (besides Chablis) are from here - Le Montrachet is considered the greatest white wine produced in France. Finally, in the south the Mâconnais region - producing generally cheaper wine that can be excellent, made for drinking young, such as Fuisse and Pouilly whites.

NOTE: The Maison Pic has two restaurants, including the legendary 3 star - if you require a reservation, please let us know at the time of inquiry, as often departure dates need to be planned around table availability.

We will make the 60km drive to the summit, and back down, taking lunch in the rolling hills of Provence, besides a fine vineyard. Next, we will drive a loop of the wonderful Luberon Valley, stopping at the most famous town in Luberon, Gordes, before heading to the beautiful La Coquillade village, an incredible village, transformed into a 5 Star Oasis amongst the rolling hills of Provence

The final stretch of the drive is one of the best in France, the incredible Route Napoleon, which we will follow south, down to the coast, and into the seaside resort of Cannes, where the tour ends with a final evening by the sea.
