Lake Garda & The Dolomites - 7 Days

Start Day 3 on Passo Falzarego, then continue on one of our favorites - Passo Pordoi. This will snake along the southern base of Piz Boe, one of the highest peaks in the Dolomites. Next is Passo Sella and then Passo Gardena. Combined, these four passes equal more than 2 hours of driving nirvana. Optionally, you can make a diversion for lunch after Passo Sella to Funivie Seceda. This is a cable car that takes visitors up to 2500 m and the famous Seceda Ridge, possibly the most iconic Dolomites location of all. After Passo Gardena, the route heads north for about 20 minutes before turning left onto Passo delle Erbe. This final pass of the day takes you through quaint ski towns and right to your next hotel.

Day 4 begins by completing the Passo delle Erbe heading west, where you will soon join the A22 to Bolzano. Shortly after Bolzano, stop at Castle Korb for a wine tasting. The wine, made from grapes from the castle's own vineyards, is matured in cellars that used to be air raid tunnels. After the wine tasting, the route climbs up to Lago di Santa Guistina and the Non Valley. This lake is encompassed in orchard covered mountains, and features a breathtaking bridge. After lunch, continue into the Non Valley, famous for the delicious apples grown here at high altitude, before a final small mountain pass to your hotel in the Adamello-Brenta National Park.

Begin Drive 4 into the Adamello Brenta National Park, named for the two large massifs Adamello and Brenta. This park is known for its waterfalls, alpine lakes, thick forests, winter skiing and incredible hikes. Cruise through the quiet alpine towns and then down the coastline of Lago d'Idro. From the southern tip of the lake you'll have some incredible driving on the Valvestino Pass to your hotel and Lake Garda. Climb your way up and over the pass which includes 24 switchbacks and the stunningly clear Lago di Valvestino before settling in for some well-earned rest and relaxation overlooking the famous Lake Garda.
