Plan with Ultimate Drives
One week, four countries, behind the wheel of a true motoring icon, our Porsche Grand Tour of the Alps should be on every car enthusiast's bucket list. The Porsche theme flows through the tour, starting with the delivery of your car and a blast on the de-restricted autobahn to Stuttgart, the home of Porsche. After a visit to the museum and factory, get ready to pass through 4 countries, and visit castles, glaciers, lakes, gorges, waterfalls, and much more. The 6-drive loop from Munich includes 2 days on the wonderful sweeping forest trails and lower mountain passes of the Black Forest in Germany, followed by 4 days in the Swiss, Austrian, Italian, and German Alps.
Pair the tour with your favorite Porsche, from our Boxster S to the fire-breathing 992 GT3 RS. Car chosen and dates set, sit back and let us take care of the rest.
Porsche Grand Tour of the Alps & Black Forest
Day 1 - Arrive in Munich
Arrive in Munich and check in to the Ameron Munich Motorworld hotel. Spend the evening exploring Motorworld itself, visiting the BMW Museum nearby, or catching the convenient tram into town for some traditional Bavarian food and beer.
Overnight Hotel: 4-Star Ameron Munich Motorworld
Day 2 - Porsche Museum and Black Forest
The following morning your car of choice will be delivered directly to the hotel, and after a quick car handoff, you'll blast your way down the autobahn to Stuttgart for lunch and a tour of the Porsche Museum and Factory. The afternoon drive will be your first scenic tour, taking you west from Stuttgart and into the heart of the Black Forest. Complete your first day by following the spectacular Hochstrasse / Route 500 into the spa resort town of Baden-Baden. With its beautiful town, thermal baths, beer hall, and casino, there's plenty to keep you occupied.
Overnight Hotel: 5-Star Roomers Hotel, Baden-Baden
Day 3 - Baden Baden to Zurich through the Black Forest
Day 3 will take you south from Baden Baden through the heart of the Black Forest on the legendary B500 Hochalpenstrasse. Along the way, you will also stop by the highest waterfall in Germany and drive on the highest mountain road in the forest before crossing the Rhine into Switzerland. Spend the evening in the compact, international city of Zurich.
Overnight Hotel: 4-Star Superior B2 Hotel & Spa, Zurich
Day 4 - Lake Luzern and the Central Swiss Alps
The tour continues the next morning, taking you south where you can stop for morning coffee at the small lakeside town of Vitznau on the shores of Lake Luzern. The next stop will be the central Swiss Alps, where you will journey through the ski resort of Andermatt, before crossing three wonderful mountain passes, following the path of the Rhine east. For the final leg of the drive, you head towards the Graubunden region of the Swiss Alps and the spectacular Albula Pass, arriving on the Engadin Valley to the jet-set ski region of St. Moritz for the next two evenings. Enjoy the Michelin star restaurant at your hotel to level up the luxury!
Overnight Hotel: 5-Star Grand Hotel Kronenhof, Pontresina
Day 5 - Swiss National Park & Stelvio National Park or Down Day
On Day 5, you can either spend a down day at your leisure in St. Moritz and your luxury hotel, or you can choose to take a scenic loop over the border into Italy to visit Stelvio National Park. On this loop, drive along the scenic Engadin Valley, past castles and wonderful hilltop villages on the way to the famous Stelvio Pass. Also included is the Offen Pass, which cuts its way through the heart of the Swiss National Park and is probably our favorite pass in the Swiss Alps. After the loop is completed, return to your hotel for a second evening.
Overnight Hotel: 5-Star Grand Hotel Kronenhof, Pontresina
Day 6 - Into Austria & the Kaunertal Glacier Road
From St. Moritz, the journey then continues towards Austria. The first stage of Day 6 will take you through more of the Engadin Valley, a wonderful sweeping route with diversions to the Castle of Tarasp, and the sleepy village of Tischlin before crossing into Austria. Then, experience the incredible Kaunertal Glacier Road, which is 40 km of pure driving pleasure as you climb to 2700 m to your lunch by the glacier. The drive then finishes with a run-up to the jet-set Austrian ski resort of Seefeld where you will spend the evening.
Overnight Hotel: 5-Star Klosterbrau, Seefeld
Day 7 - Austrian Alps / Vorarlberg
For your final scenic driving day, you will head directly onto the German Alpine Road, one of the most beautiful routes that dissects the German and Austrian Alps. Ludwig's iconic Neuschwanstein Castle is just a 45-minute drive from Seefeld, and we recommend pre-booking some early morning tickets for a visit and guided tour. (We can discuss this once you inquire as well.) For the final leg of the drive back to Munich, you will head onto the German autobahn, following a largely de-restricted stretch, so (safely) set your new personal top speed and stretch the Porsche's legs!
Overnight Hotel: 4-Star Ameron Munich Motorworld
Day 8 - Final day at leisure in Munich
Spend a final day in Munich before departing. If you didn't get a chance to visit the BMW museum on arrival (even though this is a Porsche-themed tour), we recommend doing so! Alternatively, explore some of the many attractions and activities that Munich has to offer.
