How to Book
- Decide on the break you are interested in, then using the enquiry form, choose your preferred travel dates, adjust the car and any special requirements & questions you may have.
- The enquiry will then be submitted to us and we will the check price / availability and send you a quote. Where you wish to proceed, we will then send through a Confirmation Email, together with invoice, outline itinerary and a web link to a secure Paygate website, where you can enter your credit card details to pay the balance due - details will be processed via a PayGate 128-bit SSL secure encrypted connection.
- Upon notification of the payment receipt by the credit card handler, everything will then be finalised. Please book you fligts after the payment notification email is received. For all packages, the full package price will be due at the time the booking is confirmed. However, in situations where it has been agreed that a part deposit will be taken, the final balance will be due 6 weeks before the date of the trip, and at this time second confirmation email / payment link will be sent through to you.

Our driving breaks are generally 3 nights 4 days in duration and can be booked to start on any day of your choice (subject to availability).
We will do our utmost to put together a complete package to suit your needs. Please do not hesitate to call to discuss your options at a budget and level to suit you. We would be delighted to tailor make a break for you, which can even include turning a short break into a longer stay, where for example you only require the car for the first 2 or 3 days.
Prices are in EUROS per break and are per person - assuming 2 persons share the car / a room. The price includes:
Overnight accommodation on a bed and breakfast basis, including breakfast and city taxes. A full touring pack, which includes roadbook, programmed GPS and other relevant information for the destinations you will visit. Meet / Greet and tour walkthrough / car handover at the start of the trip. On call support throught whilist you are on the road touring.
Where you are flying and hiring a car, the price also includes:
Hire of the car of your choice, fully comprehensive insurances, covering the vehicle and third parties, a reduced loss / theft damage liability insurance - each car is subject to an individual franchise deposit, and in the case of any loss / damages, the first amount will be deducted from this deposit, thereafter all other costs will be covered by the insurances. The rental also includes all required kilometers to completed the specific drive, plus a contingency of 20km. Where you exceed these kilometers you will be charged an additional price per kilometer, in accordance with the specific car chosen. Please see more details in the Our Cars section.
What is Not Included?
Flighs, transfers (only where applicable), travel and medical insurance, fuel for the car, parking charges at the hotels, lunch & evening meals and coffee breaks. Any excursions requested are also booked and charged in addition to the break price.
All reservations must be made through the confirmation e-mail sent through to you, which provides you with a link through to these detailed booking terms, and these terms shall constitute the basis of the contract between you (the Traveler) and us (Apex Leisure GmbH, Switzerland). The contract shall exist when the payment is made.
This agreement is made between Apex Leisure GmbH and the Traveler on the basis that the break as specified in the Confirmation Email and is to be taken by the Traveler and guests for a period as defined in the Email. The price of the Break is as specified in the Confirmation Email, and the agreed payment as specified on the Email should accompany all bookings. Where a part deposit is agreed, the balance of the Break Price must be paid at least 6 weeks before the beginning of the Break. If the balance of the Break Price is not received within this period then the deposit may be forfeited and the break cancelled at the sole discretion of Apex Leisure Group GmbH. If bookings are made 6 weeks or less in advance of the Hire Period the whole of the Break Price must always be paid in advance at the date of booking.
Car Hire Minimum age: 18-28 years dependent on the model of car
Driving license: full current driving license valid since two years
Additional / 2nd driver: Same conditions for an additional driver approved by Apex at the time of the rental
Car Deposits / Excess Franchise: All cars will require a car deposit / franchise deductable at the time of starting the rental. The amount of this deposit will vary by car, and by the destination of the trip, but is typically it is between €3000 (Porsche Boxster) up to around €10000 (Ferrari). Please refer to your quote / invoice for the actual amount.
Petrol: not included
Delivery / pick up is included in the price, provided that the car is returned to the pre-planned destination. Where this is not the case, then a charge of 2 EUR per KM, from the point of drop off, to the point the car was planned to be returned to will be made
KM: Included are all of the KM to complete the specific tour (see website or offer) plus a contingency of an extra 20km in case of any unplaned diversions. Any KM in addition to these will be charged to the deposit, at the rate per KM per the car rental agreement
Conditions for franchise / security deposits reervation: This will be made 48 hours before the start of the tour / car rental on an approved credit card. Note, this is a reservation, not a charge, so should not appear on the card statement. The reservation is made 48hours before to avoid unecessary delays (in case of authorisation issues) on the morning of the car handover. It is mandatory that the name of the credit card is identical to one of the drivers. At the end of the tour, the reservation will be cancelled, except in the exceptional situation where there are any agreed damages or extra charges (such as fuel, fines or excess KM), in which case the amount will be released after these charges are assessed, and where applicable, any costs deducted from the deposit. Normally speaking, it takes 4-5 days for the reservation to clear through the credit card system, and release from your card
For any tours starting in Switzerland: Under a EU custom regulation from May 2016 customers with a EU residence are no longer allowed to cross the boarder into the EU with a Swiss registred car. Therefore if you are considered an EU resident and rented a car in Switzerland it is your responsibility to not cross the boarder. Any fines or similar costs araising will be the responsibilty of the person in possession of the car.
Car Insurances General Conditions (see rental agreement for full details):
In general, the car is supplied with a fully comprehensive insurance, which covers damage or theft to the vehicle or any third party vehicle, should this be involved in an accident. Please also note:
- Unlimited Third-Party liability has a deductible amount EURO 500 in case of accident involving the responsibility of the renter.
- PAI: Personal Accident Insurance for driver and passenger is included.
- Loss, Theft and Damage insurances are included in the cost of the rental with a maximum deductible amount as per the car franchise / car deposit amount stated in the offer / invoice and subsequent car rental agreement
- The driver is held liable up to the total value of the vehicle if the car is damaged or stolen intentionally or by gross negligence.
- Insurance doesn't cover: damages caused by careless use of the car: wheels, hub-cubs, tyres, radio K7, GPS, antenna, upholstery, external mirrors, rims, convertible soft-top, gear-box, clutch etc.
Car Breakdown / recovery
In the event that the car breaks down (mechanical / not the fault of the renter) the vehicle will be collected and replaced with a replacement car as part of the insurance cover. We cannot however gurantee the same model, or even class, as this will be subject to availablity at the time - we of course try our very best. The recovery time will be dependent on the speed of the recovery service, normally from the manufacturer, so we cannot be held responsible for any loss of time, or ability to complete a drive tour exactly as this was planned. Further, if after inspection of the car it was deemed that the clients driving caused the break - in such situation we reserve the right to charge for the pick up and replacement vehicle costs. This would of course be at the assessment of a professional garage.
If the car breaks down because of the way it was driven, or cannot be driven due to an accident, then the recovery /repair /car replacement costs would be charged to the deposit, subject to the maximum franchise - replacement car costs would in this case be discussed at the time
In the situation of burst tires, these are not covered by the insuarnces, however recovery situation will vary on a case by case basis - normally, we will try to get the car to a nearest garage where a replacement tire(s) can be fitted or tire repaired, so as to keep any cost to the absolute minimum. Please note that it is a legal requirement to replace tires as a "pair" unless the tires are almost brand new.
Every effort is made to ensure that the break complies with the description given to the Traveler at the time of booking. However Apex Leisure Group GmbH cannot accept any liability for any changes or inaccuracies that occur between the time of the booking and the commencement of the Hire Period. Apex Leisure reserves the right to make alterations to pre-agreed driving routes / itineraries or car (e.g. where unseasonal snow falls, switch to 4WD car) in the unlikely event of either road closures or unseasonal weather conditions - due to the unpredictability of such events, these will be communicated to the customer no later than 24 hours before the date that the drive is due to commence. With regards to car rentals, cars will be fixed at the time of the booking, however in exceptional situations Apex Leisure reserves the right to change cars (to an equal or higher category car) due to exceptional circumstances, such as theft or damage to a car previously allocated.
Groups / Events
For groups / events, the general terms outlined apply, with some small exceptions.
Firstly, the individual franchise deposit will be based on an assessed "group" deposit
In terms of the cars on the event, Apex reserves the right to make adjustments to the final fleet, but only in exceptional cicumstances (e.g. mechanical issues) and in such cirumstances, the cars will either be upgraded (class) or swapped for a like for like class. Drivers will also be expected to sign out cars after each driver change.
Fuel is excluded from group events (except where stated otherwise in the offer), the amount due is calculated at the end of the event (without service charge or mark up) and divided equally between all persons on the event.
If the event is supervised by a Tour guide, his resonsibility is to lead the group, follow the agreed itinerary by keeping the driving schedule and providing general assistance (cars & hotels). However he will not held responsible for any accidents - individual drivers are always reponsible to drive safely, with due care and attention
Regarding meals, please see the full event itinerary for detail, but generally speaking, breakfasts, lunches and a gala dinner at the end of the event are included as part of the package unless other arrangements are made at the time of the booking.

The Traveler undertakes the break / tour entirely at their own risk and Apex Leisure Group GmbH cannot be responsible for any injuries caused to the Traveler, his/her guests or any third parties. In addition, Apex Leisure Group GmbH will not be liable to compensate the Traveler for any damage or loss of enjoyment in respect of the Traveler's Break if the failure in the enjoyment was the Traveler's fault, or could have been reasonably foreseen. Apex Leisure Group GmbH's liability in any event for any damage or loss (including both direct and indirect loss of enjoyment) will not in any event be greater than the Break Price.
Payment Terms and Cancellation
Individuals - on acceptance of the booking, a non refundable 40% deposit will be payable to secure the booking, with the balance due 6 weeks before the start of the trip. Payment can be made by credit card, via a secure payment website or by bank transfer. In the event that you wish to change the date of travel (change to circumstances) this is normally possible up to 3 weeks before the date of the trip, however, if there are additional costs arrising (typically hotels), these will be highlighted and charged seperately. There will also be a €50 re-book fee to cover the time to make such changes. In the event you need to cancel entirely, a refund will be due, in accordance with the cancelation terms set out below.
NOTE - the only expecption to the above is for the 1 day drive experiences, here the full payment is made at the time of booking, although the payment cancellation terms (below) still apply
In case of changes or cancellation, you must notify us in writing (email is acceptable) and the following cancellation charges will apply:

Groups (6 persons / 3 cars and greater) - on acceptance of the booking, a 40% non-refundable deposit shall be made, with the balance due 8 weeks before the start of the trip.
Where there is a full cancellation of the event, then the cancellation terms set out above will apply. However, for a partial cancel, then the following general rules will apply:
Where 1 traveller cancels, but the same number of cars are kept, then the total cost of the event will be unaffected (hotel rooms and cars are still as before). This means that the final total group balance due will not change. Where persons are paying individual, the cost of that seat cancelled will spread across the remaining individuals. Where 2 travellers + 1 car are cancelled, then the total cost of the event and therefore remaining balance to be paid will decrease. However, the final balance due will be dependent on the car that gets cancelled (for example a more expensive or less expensive car) and this will be calculated on a case by case basis. In general though, in both scenerios the deposit will be lost, it is just the remaning open balance that we are adjusting.
In the unlikely event of a complaint about the property, this should be reported to Apex Leisure Group GmbH within three days of arrival and confirmed in writing in a letter posted to Apex Leisure Group GmbH within one week of arrival. Failure to do this will result in Apex Leisure Group GmbH being unable to deal with the complaint. Complaints cannot be accepted after a Traveler has returned home and there has been no opportunity to put matters right during the Hire Period.
This agreement (together with the documents referred to herein):
- constitutes the entire agreement between the parties with respect to the subject matter of this agreement; and
- supersedes and extinguishes any prior drafts, agreements and undertakings between the parties relating to such subject matter.
Rights of Third Parties
A person who is not a party to this agreement has no rights under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 to enforce, or to enjoy the benefit of, any provision of this agreement.
This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Switzerland and the parties hereby submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Swiss courts.
As part of Apex Leisure Group GmbH's acceptance of the booking, the Traveler warrants to Apex Leisure Group GmbH that all information provided to Apex Leisure Group GmbH is correct and that the Traveler is aged 18 years or over.
