If you really want to experience the very best of Switzerland in terms of sights, sounds, tastes, and drives, then our Swiss Alps & Jungfrau driving tour is a perfect choice.

Our Swiss Alps & Jungfrau driving tour really is the definition of all things beautiful in this most scenic of countries, featuring lakes, mountains, and the sweeping cheese route through Emmental. This 4-night driving holiday includes 3 full days of touring through the most beautiful parts of Switzerland, and highlights the scenic shores of Lake Luzern, crossing the spectacular Susten Pass (2200 m), the medieval hilltop village of Gruyeres, a Swiss Chocolate factory, and the jet-set ski resort of Gstaad.

Swiss Alps & Jungfrau Driving Tour

Day 1 - Arrival in Zurich

Arrive in Zurich and check in to your hotel. Spend the afternoon exploring the cafes and boutiques, or take a stroll along the world-famous shopping street, Bahnhofstrasse. Later, dine at your hotel, or take advantage of the vibrant nightlife, with bars, cafes and al fresco dining options.

Overnight Hotel: 4-Star B2 Hotel & Spa, Zurich

Day 2 - Into the Central Swiss Alps & Piz Gloria

The following morning your car will be delivered to the hotel. You are now ready to hit the road! Your first tour will take you on a scenic drive along the shores of Lake Lucerne to Vitznau. Continue into the heart of the central Swiss Alps, where you will encounter the beautiful Susten Pass, one of the most spectacular mountain passes in Europe. After lunch, continue the tour to the lively town of Interlaken. Complete the drive up to your hotel, set in the heart of beautiful Grindelwald, with stunning panoramas of the surrounding peaks, including the Eiger and ever white Jungfrau

NOTE: Susten Pass doesn't open until around the 10th of June.

Overnight Hotel: 4-Star Superior Bergwelt Hotel, Grindelwald

Day 3 - Berner Oberland Alps, Gruyers & Gstaad OR visit the Jungfrau

After breakfast, it’s time to set off for your next driving adventure. On Day 3, you will head into the heart of the stunning Berner Oberland mountain range with picture-postcard Alpine villages. Visit the medieval fortified village of Gruyeres, famous for its cheeses and castle, and one of the most well-preserved villages of its kind in all of Europe. Next, head to the Maison Callier chocolate factory before crossing three stunning mountain passes, including the Jaun Pass. The loop also includes the jet-set ski resort of Gstaad, the most fashionable ski resort in the 60´s with the likes of Elizabeth Taylor regularly frequenting, and now the base for the finest finishing schools in Europe.

Alternatively, you can take the day away from driving, and make a visit to the Jungrfau, by riding the scenic railway to "The Top of Europe" the highest railway station in Europe.  On arrival, icy air sweeps over your face, snow crunches underfoot, and the panorama almost takes your breath away: on one side the view of the Swiss Mittelland towards the Vosges, on the other the Aletsch Glacier, lined with four thousand meter peaks. Standing on the Jungfraujoch 3,454 meters above sea level, you can feel it with your first step: this is a different world. It's one you have to experience.

Overnight Hotel: 4-Star Superior Bergwelt Hotel, Grindelwald

Day 4 - Back to Zurich via Furka and Grimsel Pass

You have two options for your return journey back to Zurich:

Option 1: Go back into the heart of the central Swiss Alps where you will head across two of the most spectacular passes in the Alps, the Furka Pass and Grimsel Pass. You will then head across to the alpine resort of Andermatt (referred to as being in the center of the center of the Alps). Trace the path of the Reuss River down toward Lake Luzern before completing your tour back to Zurich.

Option 2: Go along the famous "Cheese Route" connecting the small towns and villages in Emmental region specializing in cheese production. On this route, you will have the opportunity to taste and stock up on delicious Swiss cheese. Afterward, head over rugged and isolated Glaubenbielen pass, winding its way up through a lush green meadowland, before the scenery starts to become more Alpine-like, with a final ascent into a beautiful forest area. From here, continue north and over the last mountain pass, Albis, before arriving in Zurich for your final night.

NOTE: Furka Pass does not open until June. If you travel before then, you will have to take Option 2.

Overnight Hotel: 4-Star B2 Hotel & Spa, Zurich

Day 5 - Final Day at Leisure Zurich
