The tour starts in the beautiful city of Munich and includes a full loop of the Bavarian & Austrian Alps, as well as a venture further south into Italy and the amazing Dolomites - known to have not only some of the most spectacular peaks in Europe but in our view probably the greatest driving roads!
So, which cars will we have ready at the start line?
Cayman GTS, 992 T Coupe, 992 GTS Cab, 992 Turbo, GT4 Spyder RS, 992 GT3 RS, and for those that want to know "Can Porsche make eCars?" well here's your chance to try the latest Taycan Turbo ST!!
During this event, you will also get to drive some of the most iconic roads including the German Alpine Road, one of the greatest scenic drives in Europe, the Grossglockner recognized as the greatest Alpine pass in Europe, and the Great Dolomite Road, as well as one of the best stretches of unrestricted Autobahn in Germany as you complete your drive back to Munich. Porsche GT Test Event
Day 1 (12/9) - Arrive in Munich
Arrive in the beautiful city of Munich, and head to the Ameron München Motorworld Hotel, which perfectly combines driving culture with a high standard for homely comfort. Your welcome packs and roadbooks will be at the hotel on arrival, and the group will receive a full briefing on the tour ahead. The hotel itself is set in the north of the city, making for a smooth departure from Munich without any car congestion. After checking in, we encourage you to explore the city of Munich, taking in the best cultural sites and gastronomic treats, and to take advantage of the Motorworld Vitality Spa, which overlooks the historic locomotive hall, to give your mind and body some proper preparation for the exciting trip ahead.
Overnight Hotel: 4 Star Boutique Ameron München Motorworld Hotel
Day 2 (13/9) - German Alpine Road
The following morning, the Porsche fleet will be delivered, and the group will receive a walk-through of the cars. We start by heading into the heart of the Bavarian region of Germany with a first stop at Lake Chiem (Chiemsee). Continuing on to the German Alpine Road through the Bavarian Alps, in length running more than 300 km, we will enjoy a stunning 70 km stretch of sweeping roads and lower mountain passes, cruising across the border into Austria, and stopping for lunch along the way. The next stop will be the Red Bull Hangar-7 Museum, just west of the city of Salzburg, where we will visit the exhibition of the historical Flying Red Bulls aircraft fleet and a collection of Formula 1 race cars. Afterward, the drive will continue back into Germany and the stunning region of the Berchtesgaden National Park. Here, we'll drive a loop of the Rosenfeld Panorama road before heading to our hotel for the evening, the incredible Kempinski Berchtesgaden.
Overnight Hotel: 5-Star Kempinski Hotel Berchtesgaden
Day 3 (14/9) - Grossglockner
On Day 3, we will drive some of the most spectacular roads and mountain passes in the Alps as we make our way into the Austrian Tyrol region. The journey starts by heading to the beautiful lakeside resort of Zell am See for lunch at the exclusive Castle Prielau, owned by the Porsche family. The tour then continues directly onto the Grossglockner mountain pass, the highest and longest mountain pass in Austria. This is quite simply two hours of driving nirvana! The pass itself rises to more than 2500 m, and once at the summit, you can choose to make a trek to the Grossglockner glacier nearby. We'll stop at the summit for photos and a quick espresso before continuing down the pass. That evening, we'll stay in Lienz, directly on the border with Italy and the Dolomite Mountain range.
Overnight Hotel: 5-Star Dolomitengolf Suites, Lienz, Austria
Day 4 (15/9) - Dolomites
On Day 4, we will cross the border into Italy for one of the most spectacular days of driving you can imagine, featuring a full loop of the eastern Dolomites. Take in some of the most iconic mountain roads and peaks in this incredible National Park, including a loop around the Parco Naturale Tre Cime and Monte Cristallo, two of the most dramatic sights in the park. Lunch will be in the jet-set ski resort of Cortina d'Ampezzo, with time for a spot of VIP shopping before following the Great Dolomite Road across the legendary Passo Gardena, and spending an evening in the north of the National Park.
Overnight Hotel: 5-Star Falkensteiner Hotel Kronplatz
Day 5 (16/9) - Italian Tyrol & Autobahn
Our final drive starts by once again picking up the Great Dolomite Road back through the Italian Tyrol into Italy via the incredible Timmelsjoch high mountain pass. Once across the pass, we head down towards the ski resort of Soelden, made famous as a shoot location for the 007 Movie Spectre. We will ride the cable car up to the ICE Q Bar & Restaurant for lunch, used in the movie as Bloefeld’s secret hideout. After lunch, we take the pass to the ski resort of Kühtai, the highest ski resort in Austria. Experience one of the finest (and quietest) stretches of Autobahn (with a chance to explore the vmax on the car) and back to Munich where the tour ends. That evening we will meet back in the old town for a traditional Bavarian beer hall-style final get-together.
Overnight Hotel: Ameron München Motorworld Hotel
Day 6 (17/9) - Explore Munich & Departures
Spend a final day in the beautiful city of Munich. Head downtown to the heart of the luxury shopping quarter, and walk to the famous Marienplatz, the focal center point and largest square in the city. From here, another 15 minutes of walking, and you will arrive at Königsplatz, which is laid out in Neoclassical style. In the art district, you'll find one of the finest groups of art museums anywhere in Europe. First are the three Pinakothekart galleries: the Old Picture Gallery (Alte Pinakothek), with its fine collections of Dutch, Flemish, Italian, French, German, Spanish, and medieval paintings; the New Picture Gallery (Neue Pinakothek), with its displays of art ranging from Rococo to Art Nouveau; and the State Gallery of Modern Art (Pinakothekder Moderne), which includes works by Picasso and Warhol. It’s also possible to arrange an excursion to the Olympic Park, or even to the FC Bayern München stadium and museum, which we can discuss during the planning process when you reserve your spot. Later that day, transfers will occur back to Munich International Airport.
