This 4-night driving holiday includes 3 full days of touring through the most beautiful parts of Switzerland, and highlights along the way include the scenic shores of Lake Luzern, crossing the spectacular Susten Pass (2200M), the medieval hilltop village of Gruyeres, a Swiss Chocolate factory, and the jet-set ski resort of Gstaad. Swiss Alps Driving Holiday
Our driving holiday in Switzerland takes you on a journey through the heart of the Swiss Alps, featuring lakes, glaciers, mountain passes and much more.
Day 1 - Arrive Zurich, visit the old town and lake
Arrive at Zurich and check into the 4 Star B2 Boutique Spa Hotel in Zurich. On arrival, your welcome pack and detailed day by day roadbook will be waiting for you in your room.
Later, spend the afternoon exploring the cafes and boutiques of Zurich's old town, or take a stroll along the world`s famous shopping street Bahnhofstrasse. Later, dine at your hotel, or spend an evening in the city, taking in the vibrant nightlife, bars, cafes and al fresco dining options.

Day 2 - Swiss Alps Driving Holiday - First Drive into the Central Swiss Alps / visit Piz Gloria
The following morning your car will be delivered to the hotel by one of our team who will give you a full walkthrough of the car, plus the day by day roadbook, and GPS unit that will navigate you on your way. You are now ready to hit the road!
From Zurich, you first drive will take you south and on a scenic run along the shores of Lake Lucerne, where you will stop for a coffee at the beautiful lakeside town of Vitznau for coffees. Next, continue south and into the heart of the central Swiss Alps, where you will onto the beautiful Susten Pass, one of the most spectacular mountain passes in Europe - carved into the granite like sides of the valley. Quite breathtaking to drive. After a visit to the Stein Glacier on the pass, lunch is taken at the sunny foot of the Pass.
After lunch, continue the tour to the lively town of Interlaken, where you can enjoy afternoon teas, with views across to the ever white Jungfrau mountain. Now complete your run up to the Aspen Lifestyle Hotel, set in the heart of the beautiful Grindelwald, with stunning panoramas of the surrounding peaks, this is truly a magical setting. Take a late afternoon tea on the hotels wonderful terrace with views of the surrounding peaks.
NOTE - if you travel in May, the route would be slightly different, you would drive the Klausen Pass, then Lake Luzern, then onto Piz Gloria - the Susten Pass only opens from around 10th June.

Day 3 - Swiss Alps Driving Holiday - Berner Oberland Alps, Gruyers and Gstaad
After breakfast, it’s time to set off for your next driving adventure. Today you will head into the heart of the stunning Berner Oberland mountain range, this part of the Swiss Alps with picture postcard Alpine villages with wooden chalets, cows and bells et al.
You will visit the medieval fortified village of Gruyeres, famous for its cheeses and castle - the village is one of the most well preserved of its kind in the whole of Europe. Next, head to the Maison Callier chocolate factory, before crossing three stunning mountain passes in the regions, including the Jaun Pass. The loop also includes a stop for afternoon teas at the jet set ski resort of Gstaad, the most fashionable ski resort in the 60´s with the likes of Elizabeth Taylor regularly frequenting, and now the base for the finest finishing schools in Europe.

Day 4 - Swiss Alps Driving Holiday - back to Zurich via Furka and Grimsel Pass
Your return journey back to Zurich there are two possibilities:
Option 1, takes you back into the heart of the central Swiss Alps, where you will head across two of the most spectacular passes in the Alps, the Furka Pass and Grimsel Pass. You will then head across to the alpine resort of Andermatt (referred to as being in the center of the center of the Alps) where you will take lunch. After lunch, start your return journey back to Zurich tracing the path of the Reuss River down to Lake Luzern. You then pick up the scenic shores of the lake, heading to Restaurant Seerose for sun down drinks, before completing your tour back to Zurich.
Option 2, takes you north and along the famous `Cheese route` connecting the small towns and villages in Emmental region specializing in cheese production. Lunch will be taken at a traditional Emmental restaurant where you will have the opportunity to taste and stock up on delicious Swiss cheese. Afterwards, head over rugged and isolated Glaubenbielen pass, winding its way up through a lush green meadowland, before the scenery starts to become more Alpine like, with a final ascent into a beautiful forest area. From here, continue north and over the last mountain pass Albis, before arriving in Zurich for your final night.
NOTE: if you travelled in May, then option 2 would be driven as the Furka only opens in June.

Day 5 - final day at leisure Zurich / possible boat cruise
Spend a final day in Zurich, explore the old town, take a boat out on the lake, or try some shopping along the world famous Bahnhofstrasse.
Extending the journey
It is also possible to extend the trip by another night, and include a run to and overnight on Lake Geneva, at the wonderful lakeside resort of Vevey. Nearly you will visit the UNESCO World Heritage site of the Lavaux wine region, on the banks of Lake Geneva plus can stop by at the Charlie Chaplin Museum, former home of the comic legend. To make this extra extension, the overall cost of the trip will increase by approximately 20%, but please do as for more details when making an inquiry
